Paris Saint-Germain may be champions of France, but they will have to wait a little bit longer to conquer Europe.

Manchester City forward Kevin De Bryune was the hero for the Citizens as they bundled Les Parisiens out of the Champions League. But before De Bryune’s goal, Manuel Pellegrini’s men had not registered a single shot on target throughout the match.

This will be Man City's first ever appearance in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The French giants came into this fixture as the favourites having won their domestic title, but failed to live up to the expectations despite the fact that the hosts had missed a penalty in the first half through Sergio Aguero. De Bruyne’s goal generated sharp reactions on Twitter as it came at a time when Manuel Pellegrini’s men seemed to be losing the battle to Laurent Blanc side, who were consistent in attack through the lethal Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Speaking of Zlatan, the Swedish forward will now have to wait a little bit longer to lift the Champions League title, a tournament he has failed to win in his glittering club career. Here are some reactions to the Belgian's performance against the French giants:

Quite unexpectedly, a section of Chelsea fans took to Twitter to blast their star player Eden Hazard, who had nothing to do with today’s result. However, some fans of The Blues did not have kind words for the Belgium international who was retained by former coach Jose Mourinho, while Kevin de Bruyne was sold to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg before finding his way back to England via Manchester City. The fans believed that Mou made a huge mistake selling De Bryune and retaining Hazard, who is yet to score a Premier League goal this season. They argued that it would have been better to sell Hazard and retain the Man City man, rather than doing the reverse.
