Despite what can be said about Luis Suárez, his personality works perfectly with Barcelona's philosophy, according to Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique.
The Uruguayan was heavily criticized for his physical take on last Tuesday's game against Atlético, infuriating fans with his brawling skills while facing Juanfran and Filipe Luis, respectively. Even if his antics on the pitch might seem strange for some, his coach is still happy with his performances, and even backed him up during today's pre-match press conference.
"It seems like only defenders are allowed to exchange blows. Whenever there's a striker that's kind of a brawler, defenders seem to get really annoyed by him. Suárez is a very intelligent man, and even if his approach on the game is rather physical, he's got to keep using his body, playing like he's used to and collaborate for the team the way he's done from the first day on," Luis Enrique stated.
The Uruguayan escaped a red card against Atlético, and he will sit the game against Real Sociedad due to a one-match ban.
The Blaugrana boss went even further and praised the striker's skills, but he denied his team will suffer without him against the Txuri-urdin side.
"I love his profile as a player. No one in the world has his personality. But despite his absence, we won't play differently without him. He's out and that's that. I have a competitive squad that's really focused on what's coming up next," the coach added.
