Several new feats can be achieved in Saturday’s Camp Nou clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Here are the top 8.

On Saturday, April 2, Barcelona and Real Madrid will lock horns in the always thrilling Clasico encounters between Spain's two most successful clubs.

The Blaugrana currently lead the charts with 76 points, whilst Los Blancos sit in third 10 points behind their bitter rivals; nonetheless, an exciting encounter is expected.

Several new milestones can be reached in the weekend Camp Nou affair. Here are the top 8.

Messi on the brink of his 500th goal

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner currently boasts 499 career goals and is one shy from the big 500.

The 28-year-old Argentine ace failed to score in the last edition of El Clasico after missing out on the starting eleven in the 4-0 having just recovered from injury.

However, with 21 goals in 31 appearances in El Clasico, including 2 hat-tricks, it won’t be all that surprising if La Pulga finds the back of the net at least once on Saturday.

Real Madrid on the brink of a 100th away goal vs Barca

In 550 Clasico encounters in La Liga, it’s the side from the Spanish capital who have scored most, with 278 strikes compared to the Catalan giants’ 272.

From those 278 goals, 99 have been scored at Barca’s very own Camp Nou ground, meaning one more strike and Los Blancos will reach a century of goals. This shouldn’t be too difficult given the fact that they boast the league’s top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo (28 goals).

A 50th home win in El Clasico for the Blaugrana?

The Blaugrana have hosted Les Merengues a whopping 85 times, with 49 of them ending in victory for the home side (D17, L19). One more victory and Barca will be at half a century of home triumphs.

Barca eyeing a 40th game without defeat

Luis Enrique’s boys last lost on October 3, 2015 courtesy of the 2-1 defeat to Sevilla. That racks up to a record-breaking 39-game unbeaten run. Will it stretch to 40 matches this weekend?

The Catalan giants to draw level on wins with the Madrid heavyweights

A win against Zidane's crew on Saturday will see Barca draw level with Real Madrid in Clasico wins in all competitions at 92-92.

A first goalless draw in nearly 14 years?

Whenever Spain’s top dogs meet, goals are ensured. In fact, there has not been a 0-0 score line in El Clasico since November 2002

BBC in search of their 1st Clasico victory

It’s a shocking stat, but with BBC (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) all playing at once, they’ve never beaten Barca, losing all three games in which the trio started.

This could change, though, come the Camp Nou tie.

La Pulga to surpass fellow Argentine legend Alfredo di Stefano

In El Clasico in La Liga only, Messi is tied with Alfredo di Stefano for most goals at 14 each. One more for Leo and he’ll surpass the late Argentine legend in the record books once more.
