The USMNT pulled an emphatic 4-0 win over Guatemala to revive their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup in Russia, but that did not stop a section of fans from demanding the immediate sacking of coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

A section of USMNT fans were not happy with Jurgen Klinsmann's role, despite the emphatic win over Guatemala on Tuesday.

Clint Dempsey opened the scoring for the hosts at the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus. Having lost the first leg fixture 2-0 away in Guatemala on Friday, the U.S. needed nothing less than a win to revive their hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The Seattle Sounders man opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the game, Geoff Cameron then netted the second in the 35th minute, Graham Zusi added the third 10 minutes later, and Jozy Altidore drove the last nail in the 89th minute to make it 4-0 for the hosts.

The opening goal was pure beauty; watch it below:

However, despite the convincing win, a banner calling for the immediate resignation of coach Jurgen Klinsmann was spotted flying over the stadium. The German tactician has been under pressure to resign following USA's fourth-place finish in last year's CONCACAF Gold Cup, and things got worse after last Friday's defeat to the hosts in Guatemala. The banner read: "#FIREKLINSMANN HE'S A TINY LITTLE BIT BEHIND."

The U.S. now moves to the second position in Group C with seven points, three behind group leaders Trinidad and Tobago. Only two teams from the group will qualify for the World Cup, but thanks to the 4-0 win over Walter Claveri’s men, the USMNT can now dare dream of a spot after facing the threat of missing out for the first time since the past seven tournaments. But will the 51-year-old tactician be part of the journey to the global football extravaganza in Russia? Well, only time will tell.
