This match will determine who gets the final berth in the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics.
The U.S. got an excellent result in the first-leg of their play-off qualifier in Colombia with a 1-1 draw. They can qualify this Tuesday with a home win or a goalless draw. Meanwhile, visitors Colombia will need to win or draw with a score of 2-2 or higher to advance.
What happens in the event of a draw?
If at the end of 90 minutes of regulation time both teams are tied 1-1, then extra-time play will ensue with two 15-minute periods. If after these 30 minutes, the teams are still tied with no goals scored, the game will go to a penalty shootout.
NOTE: if during extra-time the teams are still tied, ie, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 draw, then due to the away goals rules, Colombia would be declared the victor and would qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.
