The Selecao will be without captain Neymar, as they travel to lock horns with La Albirroja in the final game of this international break.

The latest edition of the international breaking is drawing closer to its end, meaning a pause to the current World Cup qualifying campaign going on in South America.

The continental giants Brazil will play their last game in March before a return to club football, traveling to the Estadio Defensores del Chaco to lock horns with Paraguay.

Fresh off their 2-2 draw with Uruguay, the Selecao will be hoping to return to winning way on Tuesday. Will Dunga's boys clinch victory?

Team news – Suspensions galore

Although only two players will miss Tuesday’s game through suspension, Dunga’s crew will feel like a depleted squad given the importance of those two men to the Brazil lineup.

The five-time World Cup winners will be without influential captain Neymar who despite failing to impress in the 2-2 draw with Uruguay, will be missed in the last qualifier of this international break after warranting a suspension through an accumulation of bookings.

In addition, star center-back David Luiz is also suspended, leaving the South American powerhouse’s backline short after failing to call-up former skipper Thiago Silva.

Philippe Coutinho is expected to return to the starting lineup after making a cameo as a substitute in Friday’s game, whilst either Jonas or Gabriel is expected to deputize for Neymar.

Over to the Paraguay camp, and Ivan Piris appears fit to start after coming on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Ecuador.

However, national team boss Ramon Angel Diaz will have to manager without experienced striker Roque Santa Cruz after falling victim to injury, albeit La Albirroja will be boosted by the return of Pablo Aguilar from suspension.

Head to head

Tuesday’s opponents share a lot in common: they both suffered 2-2 draws in their last game despite marching to a lead and they sit level on points in the standings with 8 each, with the Selecao one place above Paraguay due to a better goal difference.

However, this will matter for nothing when the two nations collide, as Brazil look to avenge their 2015 Copa America exit at the hands of Paraguay in the midweek clash.

The Selecao have not beaten La Albirroja since May 2009 when they won 2-1, with Paraguay coming out victorious on 3 occasions against Brazil in their last 5 meetings.

In addition, Ramon Angel Diaz’s men are unbeaten at home in six games.
