La Albiceleste will look to grab their third consecutive win before the end of this international break, as Messi and Co. host Julio Cesar Baldivieso's crew.

La Albiceleste’s campaign to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia has failed to dazzle so far; however, Argentina have slowly been returning to form as back-to-back wins in round 4 and 5 have seen the South America powerhouse move up to 5th.

With the return of influential captain Lionel Messi after missing the first four games through injury, La Albiceleste earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Chile in their last match to clinch their 8th point of the qualification round, and are now level on points with Paraguay.

Next up for Leo and Co. is a home clash with Bolivia. Will they grab their third consecutive win?

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

There will be no appearance on Tuesday for Boca Juniors ace and former Juventus striker Carlos Tevez, as the 32-year-old failed to earn a call-up to the national side for the recent international break.

Another Argentine attacker with affiliation with The Old Lady that will miss the clash with Bolivia is Paulo Dybala, with the Serie A superstar falling victim to a muscle injury.

Julio Cesar Baldivieso will also be without a few key players for the trip to the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, as the likes of Walter Veizaga, Morales, Lizio and Zenteno are all sidelined with injuries.

Arce also misses out on Tuesday’s game, but through suspension.

Head to head

Given the star-studded lineup that Gerardo Martino boasts, led by five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, the 2014 World Cup runners-up are believed favorites to grab all three points.

However, La Albiceleste have stats the boast their odds of triumphing over La Verde in Cordoba on Tuesday.

Argentina have turned their recent form around, winning consecutive games after kick-starting their qualifiers with a defeat and two disappointing draws. Ecuador on the other hand have lost four of their five qualifiers.

Furthermore, the two-time World Cup winners have completely annihilated their midweek opponents in their last two run-ins, winning 7-0 and 5-0 respectively.

Two of their last 5 meetings have ended in victory for Argentine, with the remaining three games ending in draws.
