The German goalkeeper admits he’s worried about his long-term future, as he continues to play second fiddle to Manuel Neuer in the national side.

German custodian Marc-Andre ter Stegen has just put current employers Barcelona on alert, as the 23-year-old insists he might have to rethink his future with the Catalan giants should he fail to land more playing time.

The shot-stopper made the move to Camp Nou only last season, leaving Borussia Monchengladbach as a promising goalkeeper; however, he has failed to establish himself as the Blaugrana’s number one choice.

Luis Enrique favors Chilean ace Claudio Bravo, albeit Ter Stegen is almost always given the nod in Champions League and cup games. Nonetheless, the German international admitted that his number of games isn’t sufficient enough to his liking.

The Barca shot-stopper has yet to feature in a single major competition for die Mannschaft, as Ter-Stegen continues to play second fiddle to undisputed first-choice goalie Manuel Neuer.

"I want to take the next step and play more because the situation is clear: if nothing changes we'll be forced to talk", Ter Stegen said, as per Marca: "At the end of the season I'll have played around 25 games. That's not such as small number, but when I return from international duty, I'll probably be on the bench in the 'Clásico' against Real Madrid. In the long-term, those 25 games aren't enough for me."

Ter-Stegen, currently with the national side as they prepare to lock horns with England in a highly-anticipated friendly, refused to be drawn into talks regarding his future, however.

Marc insisted that he is just focused with Barca’s post-international break run of games which will see them face Real Madrid then Atletico Madrid three days later.

"No idea. It's too soon. Now we're playing Real Madrid in La Liga and Atlético in the Champions League. That's what's important. Afterwards we'll see what plans the club has for me."
