Karim Benzema and Keylor Navas were the first-half heroes for Real Madrid against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid top shot-stopper Keylor Navas was in fine form for his side in the first half, having made crucial saves in front of goal, most notably a penalty awarded to Sevilla in the 27th minute of the game.

The hosts found the back of the net through Karim Benzema as early as the 6th minute, but the visitors kept on pressing for an equalizer.

Their efforts almost bore fruits in the 27th minute when Varane was ruled to have tripped a Sevilla defender in the danger area. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas then stepped up and dived to the right direction to save the penalty, hence preventing Los Rojiblancos from finding the much-needed equalizer.
