Call it fate or coincidence but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to face his former side Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League. The first leg of the much-anticipated encounter will be played at the Signal Iduna Park in Germany on April 7, 2016, while Liverpool will host the second leg tie at Anfield on April 14, 2016.

Klopp signed a three-year-deal with the English giants on October 8, 2015 after parting ways with the German side. But now, he is set to face an acid test against his former men, who have proven to be ruthless and lethal in front of goal so far in this campaign. BVB boasts of a star-studded squad led by the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in attack. The Gabonese goal machine has now scored seven goals in this competition and is expected to shine against his former boss having pumped three past Spurs in their last 16 fixture.
The two clubs last met in the group stage of 2001/02 UEFA Champions League season, when Liverpool won 2-1 at Anfield. On the other hand, BVB come into this fixture having thumped Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on aggregate to proceed to the quarter-finals. The Reds will now be wary of the free-scoring German machine that tears into defenders at will and fires from all cylinders.
Unfortunately for some fans, this fixture seemed to have come too early. Many fans expected the two giants to face each other at the later stages of the tournament, probably at the semis or finals. However, as fate would have it, the Klopp derby is here with us and the excitement has already starting building up on social media. Here are some of the best reactions to the Dortmund vs Liverpool game:
Hopefully Dortmund makes Liverpool's win count for nothing..
