Group E leaders Netherlands currently hold a perfect record in the Euro 2012 qualifiers, but so do Sweden. Now, midfielder Sebastian Larsson wants to put an end to the Oranje’s run.
Sweden have a game in hand like Finland in the table whereas all the other contestant in Group E have played 3 matches already. Tonight, the Swedes will create a vital advantage for themselves should they defeat the Netherlands away from home.

One of their greatest strength is the defense which is yet to be broken. Looking at how unimpressive the Dutch were against Moldova last week, Tuesday night’s visitors will be hoping to stun their opponents with a performance that will help them clinch an important victory in Amsterdam.

There’s no way Sweden can top the Netherlands on paper, but as long as football is played on the field, midfielder Sebastian Larsson continues to hope for the best.

As he spoke to FIFA.com, the Sweden international admitted the Netherlands potential before expressing his confidence ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifying match. He stated:

“It doesn’t get much tougher. The Dutch are a great side. They are strong in every department and they proved that during the summer. They showed that they are among the best in the world.

“However, we believe in ourselves. We have been playing well, and we are confident that we can leave Amsterdam with a good result. It will be tough, but we have set a standard for ourselves so far, and we want to maintain the momentum.”

If Sweden steal at least a point from the Netherlands and if Hungary lose to Finland, then Group E will somehow look a bit decided. Actually, both the Netherlands and Sweden are poised to make it to the finals of the European Championship.

The big battle in this section could be about seizing the top spot for automatic qualification. Certainly, Tuesday night’s Netherlands vs Sweden match is just the beginning of the fight…
