After all, when it comes to penalties, Messi seems to be human after all.
The international superstar wasn't able to transform yet another penalty this season against Getafe, setting a new La Liga record for most missed penalties by a team. Los Blaugranas have been awarded 15 penalties in their domestic tournament, and have only been able to transform eight. With today's miss, Barcelona surpassed Tenerife as the team with the most missed penalties in a single season.
Particularly, Messi's performance when he comes to take the shot from the spot hasn't been as accurate as you would expect. The Argentinean has missed four out of eight penalties he has taken this season, contributing to the team's misfortune.
If you take a look at Barcelona's stats in all competitions, things don't improve that much.
Lionel Messi has now failed to score 4 of the 8 penalties he's taken this season (Barcelona's success rate is 50%, scored 10 of 20)

Fans weren't pleased with this news. Here's what they had to say about it.
Barcelona would be better at blindfolded penalties. #fcblive pic.twitter.com/rZK0Tqv5SZ

It would make sense to foul Barcelona's players every time they enter the penalty area
