The French midfielder tops a list of players that Los Blaugranas will not be able to sign due to budget restraints.

It seems like Paul Pogba's wish about playing alongside Lionel Messi will have to be put on hold.

According to Catalunyan-based newspaper Sport, the French midifielder tops a list of players that will not be joining Barcelona this summer due to budget restraints. Pogba, Everton's John Stones, Milan's Alessio Romagnoli and Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan are reportedly included in that list.

Pogba's signing, although discussed by the top Blaugrana execs, can't be completed given all the financial complications the team will be facing next season. The player's agent, Mino Raiola, has been quoted saying that his client will not leave Juventus unless a club makes a bid for more than 100 million euros.

These news will surely fill Real Madrid's supporters with joy, as Pogba has become a top priority for coach Zinedine Zidane, and the club would be willing to complete his signing before FIFA decides on their impending transfer ban.

Back to Barcelona, coach Luis Enrique is reportedly interested in adding a couple more players to his squad, with Marquinhos and Aymeric Laporte as his options on defense. Up front, the main target for Los Culés was Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, but it would be suicidal for the Premier League leaders to sell one of their top assets when they are on the verge of securing their first ever Champions League spot for next season.

Whether the club makes a bid to sign the Premier League player or not, the only certainty at this point involves a backup striker being signed by Los Blaugranas.
