The Dutchman gave updates on the likes of Antonio Valencia and Bastian Schweinsteiger in his pre-match press conference.

On Thursday, Manchester United will lock horns with bitter rivals Liverpool in an exciting Europa League affair, their 195th competitive meeting yet first ever encounter in a European competition.

However, Louis Van Gaal still faces a selection headache, as several of his first-team players remain out and on the sidelines with injuries.

Long-time absentee Luke Shaw (leg) is out of the Anfield clash, whilst club captain Wayne Rooney will also miss the trip due to knee problems.

However, the Dutch tactician revealed updates on other key players such as Bastian Schweinsteiger and Antonio Valencia.

Although the 64-year-old tipped a number of players to make their return this month, he admitted that he’ll only be welcoming Valencia back to the squad that lost 1-0 to West Brom on Sunday.
