Leicester City are taking all the right steps to assure their wonderful season is not just a flare. Considering the amount of time they've invested in putting together a consistent side, Leicester's execs won't want their key performers to lead an exodus this summer, and their first order of business will be to try and keep Jamie Vardy around.
Back in February, Vardy signed a contract extension with the Foxes for the next three and a half years, having his weekly wage increase from 40,000 pounds to 80,000 pounds. According to The Times, the new deal included an increase of the player's buyout clause, which will be around 30 million pounds when the summer transfer window starts.
The English striker leads the EPL's goal scoring chart, but hasn't been able to score in the past three games.

Leicester City's decision to increase Vardy's clause will grant the team a good amount of money if the player decides to leave. Added to that, the Foxes would be on the winning end of the deal, having bought Vardy away from Fleetwood Town for 1 million pounds back in 2012.
With Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly interested in signing the striker, only time will tell if the EPL leaders will be able to keep him around or say goodbye to one of their most influential players of a season which could end with them lifting the Premier League title.
