Ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has a new job, and it is not about football.

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been appointed as the official ambassador of Northern Ireland Hospice and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

The 43-year-old is now the brand ambassador of Northern Ireland’s largest local charity network and his main roles will revolve around supporting campaigns and raising awareness about the organization’s care services offered throughout the region.

The former Liverpool boss is not a stranger to hospice care; he lost his father to cancer back in 2011. Speaking about his new appointment, he said:

“I am very proud of my roots as a Northern Ireland man and very well aware of the first-class hospice care provided here.’’

He added:

“To be asked to take on the role of Ambassador for a charity such as Northern Ireland Hospice makes me equally humbled and excited.

“Northern Ireland Hospice and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice are both at the forefront of palliative care, support, education and research. The new adult hospice due to open this year will make Northern Ireland a world-leader in many aspects of hospice care.”

Brendan’s first appointment with the charity organization will see him participate in an all-star Hospice Heroes relay team in the Belfast City Marathon on May 2.

In matters concerning football, the Northern Irish man has not been with a club since parting ways with Liverpool in October 2015. There have been several media reports in England linking him with a return to the Premier League, but for now, he is still clubless.
