Things have gone from bad to worse for Arsenal this season in their bid to fight for the title.

Premier League title contenders Arsenal have been dealt with a huge blow ahead of their crucial match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Arsene Wenger has confirmed Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny will miss the North London derby. This comes just a few hours after the Gunners lost to Swansea at the Emirates Stadium and as they travel to the White Hart Lane this weekend, they need nothing less than a win to revive their hopes of lifting the Premier League this season.

Cech picked up a hamstring injury on Wednesday as Arsenal went down 2-1 to the Swans while Koscielny has a calf problem. Arsene Wenger’s men have lost their last two consecutive Premier League games against Man United and Swansea, but some fans believe that they can still go all the way to win the Premier League title this season especially after both Leicester City, Manchester City and Spurs dropped crucial points in their previous league fixtures.

The French tactician confirmed the news in a post-match interview:

In Cech’s absence, David Ospina is expected to start between the posts while Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker could provide more cover at the back.
