Speaking after their victory over the Nerazzurri on Sunday, the Italian manager hailed his players for knocking out one side from the title race.

On Sunday, Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan played the 2nd of three clashes in Serie A and Coppa Italia within the span of 34 days.

Traveling to Turin for round 27 in the Italian league, Roberto Mancini’s crew fell to a 2-0 defeat in the weekend courtesy of goals from Leonardo Bonucci and Alvaro Morata.

The loss to The Old Lady leaves the Nerazzurri in fifth with 48 points, a whopping 13 points behind Allegri’s table-toppers with only 11 matches to go.

Speaking after the game, the Juventus boss thanked his players but called for calm, as they have yet to retain their Scudetto title.

However, Massimiliano did claim that Sunday’s victory over Inter was vital, as the win saw them “eliminate” the Milan giants from the title race.

“I want to congratulate the players on their performance, but we haven’t won anything yet,” Allegri said in a post-match press conference.

“The season is not finished yet either. We still have to play 11 matches in Serie A.

“However, it was important to win tonight so we eliminate Inter from the title race.”
