Steven Gerrard was worried about his chances of watching the Capital One Cup final live, but coach Bruce Arena had other plans.

They say that managers often concede some of their star players certain permissions to keep them happy, and the gesture LA Galaxy's coach had with Steven Gerrard surely falls into that category.

Former USMNT coach Bruce Arena, currently working with LA Galaxy, decided to shift the start of the team's Sunday practice, so Gerrard could watch his beloved Reds try and win the Capital One Cup against Manchester City.

"When I told Bruce the kick-off time, he pushed training and our flight to Mexico back an hour on Sunday to ensure I didn't miss it," Gerrard stated.

The Galaxy recently played its first official match of the year against Mexican side Santos Laguna. The first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League Quarter final series ended with a goal-less draw in Mexico's northern city of Torreón.

Klopp and Gerrard share a laugh back in December. The player was allowed by Klopp to join the Reds' training sessions in order to keep him fit.

About Liverpool's chances of winning the title, Gerrard believes the team will be driven to success because of Klopp's nature as a winner.

"The way he delivers his message inspires players. There is an honesty and integrity about him and he lets his players know exactly what is expected in a clear way. I look at my old club under Klopp and I am certain they have appointed another winner," the player told The Telegraph.
