Team owner Silvio Berlusconi revealed the rossoneri could still make a bid to keep the trouble-making striker around despite his disappointing performances.

Even after his unsuccessful loan from Liverpool, Mario Balotelli may still have a chance to land a permanent contract with AC Milan.

The Italian striker, deemed as one of the worst signings in Liverpool's history, could end up playing with the rossoneri after the end of the season, considering the Reds have publicly claimed he won't be coming back to Anfield Road next year.

AC Milan's owner Silvio Berlusconi spoke about the trouble-making striker on Italian TV, hinting that "Super Mario" could be signed by the end of the season permanently, but he has to be fully committed to become a team player.

"Will we sign him outright? It depends on him. He has extraordinary technical and physical qualities, especially if he can really show maturity in terms of his behaviour in his life and his position on the pitch," Berlusconi said.

The Italian striker, hours after signing his loan deal with Milan last summer.

The Italian striker has only been able to play eleven games with the rossoneri this season, with only one goal to his name. A number of injuries and off-the-pitch issues have kept him away from the first team, coming on as a sub in nine of those 11 outings.

In the same interview, Berlusconi revealed a number of issues that the player could improve to become more influential for Il Diavolo.

"He drifts out to the wings too much. If he were to do these things we’d be very happy to make a financial sacrifice and keep him here with us," the Italian tycoon added.

It seems like Liverpool will try to cash in on Balotelli's reputation, given that Chinese clubs have shown interest in signing the player. However, Balotelli's desire to keep playing in his home country could pave the way for his permanent signing with Sinisa Mihajlovic's squad.
