The former Manchester United legend claims that the English top flight could use Jose Mourinho's skills and personality.

As the rumour mill surrounding José Mourinho and a supposed deal being penned by the Portuguese boss and Manchester United, a former Red Devil backed up a possible return by Mourinho to the Premier League.

In an interview with talkSport, "Becks" revealed his desire to have "The Special One" coaching again in the English top flight, even after being sacked by Chelsea back in December.

"Jose leaving Chelsea, who would have expected that after the season they had last year? It doesn’t make him a bad manager.  He is still one of the best managers and I hope he comes back to the Premier League as soon as possible," Beckham stated.

Beckham, currently working out a deal to have his MLS team ready to go in the upcoming years, believes that the EPL needs someone as flamboyant as Mourinho coaching one of England's great teams.

"The Premier League is the Premier League for the great players we bring in, the great teams, the money, the fans and the great characters that we have as managers. You want to see managers like that in the game," the former midfielder added.

Nevertheless, Beckham showed he still thinks highly of coach Louis Van Gaal, even if his second season has been so shaky, and even hinted that he should be given time to show what he was hired to do.

"Sometimes it takes time. It is not easy being manager of Man United. There is always going to be criticism, but at the end of the season let's see what happens," Beckham concluded.
