The former Chelsea boss will not be headed back to Italy when he makes his return to football.

Despite being sacked by Chelsea – for the second time – back in January, Jose Mourinho remains a decorated and feared manager, thus there is little surprise as to why he is a highly sought after manager.

However, the Portuguese tactician recently spoke to La Stampa and confessed that although he’ll make his return to football soon, one club is out of the running.

That is former side Inter Milan, as the Special One revealed that he’s unlikely to make a return to the Nerrezzuri – where he famously won the treble – despite their troubles this season, claiming current boss Roberto Mancini is the right man.

"After being together for lunch [with the Moratti family] we will go to San Siro, bringing with us the spirit of Inter, with the hope and happiness to see Inter win. It will be very emotional for me – San Siro, the Inter fans," Mourinho's statement to La Stampa read.

"But one thing I want to clarify, I will not be in charge next season. Inter have a project and that is Erick Thohir and Roberto Mancini.

"Their ideas have my full support and my hope is that the project of the coach and the president continues with great success."

Jose Mourinho, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, UEFA Champions League

Although San Siro won’t be Jose’s next destination, the 53-year-old could be headed for another one of Europe’s fallen elites: Manchester United.

As per The Sun, Mourinho recently revealed to close friends that he is confident of landing the managerial job at Old Trafford next season should the Red Devils part ways with under-fire boss Louis Van Gaal.

Additionally, former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp told Sirius XM that Mourinho’s Man United deal has been completed; however, Jose insists that he is not gunning for any club, but it is in fact clubs that are after the Portuguese manager.

"My next club? I really don't know. One thing is certain; I love football and I will return on the fields with the same passion and ambition as always.

"Right now I have respect for every coach and every club. I'm not looking for a club; it is the clubs who seek me."
