After a series of disappointing results, the Neroazzurri side want to climb back the Serie A standings, but Sampdoria won't make it easy for them.

Two desperate teams will meet against each other for the 26th Round of Serie A's 2015-2016 tournament. Former leaders Inter Milan want to climb back to the top three teams of the table, but they can't afford losing more ground after a series of dubious performances. On the other side of the pitch, Sampdoria needs to add points to their tally if they want to keep their status as a top tier team next season, since they are three points clear from relegation spots.

Neither team has shown good form in their most recent games, as Sampdoria hasn't been able to win a single game out of their previous six. On the other hand, Inter only managed to win one game out of their last five.

Inter Milan

The Neroazzurri side has almost seen their chances of winning the Scudetto vanish, following a series of not-so-flattering results. One win, three draws and two losses have seen Roberto Mancini's crew drop from title contenders to Europa League hopefuls.

Inter will have to make due without three of their most interesting players. Gary Medel, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Alex Telles will all be out for disciplinary reasons, keeping in mind that a loss against Sampdoria combined with a victory by AC Milan could watch them fall behind their hated neighbours for the first time this season.

Sampdoria

If Inter has shown disappointing form recently, Sampdoria hasn't been able to become a threat for opposing teams. I Blucerchiati has lost four of their last six games, conceding thirteen games in the process. Vincenzo Montella's crew needs to focus on the pitch, considering Frosinone is three points behind them in the Serie A standings, which will surely make them desperate to secure at least one point. A good start for Montella's men would be trying to win this away match, following three straight losses away from home.

Head to head

Inter and Sampdoria have played 40 games against each other, with Inter making the best out of their meetings with 19 wins and 14 draws. Sampdoria's most recent visits to Giuseppe Meazza Stadium have ended with two losses and one draw, making it clear for everyone that it's not an easy venue for them to add points.
