Arsenal are too immature to win the Premier League title, according to a Barcelona star.

Outspoken Barcelona defender Dani Alves has dismissed the idea of Arsenal winning the Premier League title this season. In an interview with The Times, the Brazilian revealed:

"Being such a young team they sometimes lack maturity and the experience that's necessary to get to the line.

"In the Premier League they start well, but it costs them more to maintain that level and get titles. They treat the ball very well and are very organised, tactically, but there is not a mixture of youth and experience.’’

He also added that Arsenal players are more focused on playing attacking football but fail to control the game when the need arises.

"The young people want to attack but there are times when you have to control the game."

The Gunners face the Blaugrana in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League next week. Luis Enrique’s men will travel to London for the first leg of the much-anticipated fixture, while the return leg will be held at the Nou Camp a fortnight later. Both Arsenal and Barcelona are in contention to win their local league titles, but the latter will come into this fixture as the favourites by virtue of being the defending Champions.

The Spanish giants have also gone 29 matches unbeaten and they will be hoping to extend the winning streak to 30 games if they beat Celta Vigo in their La Liga fixture on Sunday. A win for the hosts will solidify their lead at the top of La Liga table as they shift their focus into defending their Champions League title.
