The Dutch boss also revealed he does not need the team's execs to take a stand and support him as new rumors about his future arise every week.

Prior to Saturday's clash against Sunderland, in which Manchester United will try to keep hunting for Champions League spots, coach Louis Van Gaal shared his thoughts about the possible arrival of José Mourinho as his substitute in an interview with The Independent.

The Dutch tactician denied such claims, adding that the club would not enter negotiations with another coach without telling him.

"I can only say that I have spoken with Ed Woodward and I cannot imagine that they have spoken with each other. I think that if they speak with another manager, they would tell me because our relationship is like that," LVG said.

"If they are thinking that they want to replace me, they have to prepare and they have to enquire, that is what I think. But if it is like that, they have to say it to me," he added.

The one time Barcelona boss also revealed that this sort of comments have an impact on his state of mind, even if he is used to that kind of pressure.

"I not only have a strong relationship with Ed, but also with the Glazers. And that is why I am annoyed with all the publicity. I have been ‘sacked’ three times and now it is about negotiations starting with Jose Mourinho. The next time, it will be another manager," the coach concluded.

Manchester United are six points behind fourthplace Manchester City, with only thirteen games to be played.
