PSG's "most successful coach" will stay with the team for at least two more seasons.
French boss Laurent Blanc put an end to all the rumors surrounding his future and agreed a contract extension with the current Ligue 1 champions. The former Barcelona defender concluded his current deal with Les Parisiens this summer, and some rumors placed him away from the club he's led for the past two seasons.
The French boss shared his happiness in an interview with the team's website.
"It is with great pleasure that I have just extended my contract as coach of Paris Saint-Germain. I would like to thank the club for the faith that has been put in me. Since the beginning, I have felt honoured to work for such an ambitious club and it is extremely satisfying to coach such talented players," Blanc stated.
The French manager has worked superbly with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Paris Saint Germain's season seems to be going on perfectly, as Les Parisiens have reached a record-breaking streak of 34 games without a loss.
With that in mind, team owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi dismissed the idea of hiring José Mourinho and trusted the 1998 World Cup winner to lead Les Parisiens for the next two years.
"Over the past three years, our coach and his staff are writing with their team a glorious page of the Club’s history, winning trophies and setting records. All conditions are clearly there to opt for stability," Al Khelaifi told the team's website.
Blanc has coaches PSG in 151 games, winning 111 of them, drawing 27 and losing only 13.
