Long-serving captain John Terry could be on his way out of Chelsea, according to one of his teammates.

Chelsea star Willian has confirmed that the West London club could miss the services of their legendary player John Terry. Earlier last month, the 35-year-old former England international confirmed that he was on his way out of the club. The Premier League giants are reportedly unwilling to extend his contract at the Stamford Bridge, something that could lead to his departure at the end of the season.

In an interview with Squawka, the Brazilian midfielder revealed:

“I’m thankful for having the opportunity to play beside him. I’ve learnt a lot from John Terry.

“I think he would like to stay longer with us, but unfortunately it seems he won’t be able to remain as a Chelsea player.

“The club won’t probably extend his contract, I can just wish him the best of luck for the rest of his career.”

Terry had featured in almost 500 Premier League games for his club in the past 18 seasons, won the league four times, the FA Cup five times and the League Cup thrice. He has also won the Champions League title in 2012 and the UEFA Europa League in 2013. Additionally, he is also the highest scoring defender in the Premier League with 30 goals.

He retired from international football in 2012, having made 78 caps for England since 2003. Some of his most notable awards include the FIFA FIFPro World XI (5 times), UEFA Team of the Year (4 times), and the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team in 2006. During an interview with Jamie Carragher on Daily Mail, Terry hinted at a move to the USA to join the Major League Soccer if Chelsea fail to extend his contract.
