Players trading in football in Europe for China have now become a trend, with several names making the switch in the recent January transfer window.
Atletico Madrid recently announced a switch to Guangzhou Evergrande for striker Jackson Martinez, once one of the continent’s hottest strikers during his Porto days, whilst Gervinho joined Hebei China Fortune.
Then there was Jiangsu Suning shock signing of Chelsea and Liverpool target Alex Teixeira, whilst they also recruited Ramires from the Blues.
Now, another name from the English Premier League could be headed for China. According to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports, an unnamed club from the world’s most populated country is willing to splash $54.7m on Dimitri Payet.

Furthermore, an approximate $194,000-per-week could be the French midfielder’s pay wage after tax should he leave Upton Park, despite only joining last summer.
Despite signing for an undisclosed fee as revealed by the club’s official website back in June, the Daily Mail claimed that the deal was worth $15.4m, meaning the Hammers would stand to make significant profit should they do business with the Chinese club.
West Ham recently announced in a statement that "productive talks" have been held between player and club over an improvement and extension to his current deal with the London side.
This news come just as Slaven Bilic's boys gear up for their FA Cup replay clash with Liverpool.
