As Arsenal fans keep dreaming about the Premier League title, one of their legends has chosen not to dream.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has dismissed the Gunners’ capacity to win the Premier League this season. The former France international was speaking on Sky Sports last weekend.

He argued that with the likes of Manchester City, Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea sleeping on their job, the Gunners should have been the favourites to lift the trophy. However, after a disappointing run of four matches without a win, the North London side found themselves at the traditional fourth position on the log, something that Henry believes could have been avoided if they had a winning mentality.

Arsene Wenger’s men beat AFC Bournemouth 0-2 on Sunday to revive their hopes of winning the trophy that has eluded them for a decade, but their legendary striker believes that they still have a long way to go.

During the show, Henry explained:

''If I had said to you that Chelsea would struggle, Manchester City would struggle, you would have thought that it would be a season that Arsenal would walk away with it easily.''

''And it’s not happening.''

He then added:

''I would question also the mentality of it. The game against Chelsea, they didn’t score. Those are the sort of games you need to win.''

''They need three points. It is business. You don’t win the league for a very long time. Can you win it? It’s time to wake up and do it!''

''For me at the moment, Leicester are the team to win it. They’re not only showing they can win it, they’re showing they can cope with the pressure.''

The football star-cum-pundit made 258 appearances for the Gunners and scored 175 goals in the Premier League. Arsenal face Leicester City in their next Premier League fixture, a match that each side needs nothing less than a win to keep their title hopes alive.
