The Croatian midfielder drilled a wonderful outside-the-box shot into the top right hand corner against Granada during the final moments of the game.

Zinedine Zidane's unbeaten run as Real Madrid coach was given an ego boost today, as Los Blancos managed to beat Granada at Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium. But if Zidane is a thankful man, he needs to do so with Luka Modric, who scored the game-winning goal as time expired.

Benzema's first half goal gave Real Madrid the lead, but Youssef El-Arabi cancelled it by taking advantage of a couple of fortunate factors, including the game's ref "tackling Luka Modric, which moments later was transformed into the through ball that led to the equalizer.

Modric found it hard to keep up with the play after being "screened" by referee Gil Manzano.

But Real's knight in shining armour was Modric. As Granada's players came closer to complete a shocking draw, the Croatian collected a loose ball outside the hosts' box and fired a right-footed shot straight into the back of the net, kicking off celebrations for Real Madrid's supporters inside the stadium. Today's goal was Modric's first of the 2015-2016 season.
