The Spanish boss is already working alongside Txiki Begiristain to put together a talented squad, but reports state none of Barcelona's stars will be touched.

Pep Guardiola will have carte blanche to assemble as much talent as he desires, but he will not be able to lure away any of Barcelona's biggest assets in the upcoming transfer window.

As reported by Catalunyan newspaper Sport, Guardiola and Manchester City's Sports Director Txiki Begiristain have agreed not to touch any of Los Blaugranas' gems, dismissing all rumors from the English media about Messi and Neymar joining the Citizens.

The report reveals that Guardiola could sign up to eight players, but he chose not to make an attempt to sign any player from the MSN attack, since he knows all of them are quite happy with Los Culés. The highly praised coach wants to add four defenders, one or two midfielders, and one or two strikers to help out Sergio Agüero, one of the players Guardiola like the most.

Neymar's quotes praising Guardiola ignited many rumors about his future.

Guardiola's decision about not touching any of Barcelona's players is motivated by Begiristain's desire to keep a good relationship between both teams. The Citizens' exec played for Barcelona in the early 90s, and was also the team's Sports Director when Guardiola coached the team to the club's first treble in 2009.

Added to Messi and Neymar, goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and midfielder Sergio Busquets were linked to the Sky Blues in the past few days, but the same report states that none of them will be touched unless Los Blaugranas decide to part ways with them.
