Hertha Berlin's top three credentials will be put to test as they await a difficult fixture against Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund come into this match at the back of an impressive run which has seen them winning all of their last five matches.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the star man at the club having scored 20 goals in just 19 league outings so far and the CAF player of the year is eyeing Gerd Muller's Bundesliga record.
The German legend scored 40 league goals back in the 1971-72 season and what bodes well for Aubameyang is the fact that his goal tally is two better when compared to Muller's that season at this stage.
"I still need to score 20 goals to do it, right?" he said.
"That's a lot, but in football you never know."
"It's true I've achieved my goal, but I haven't yet managed to fulfil my bet with the coach, you'll have to be patient," he said.
The 26 year old has scored three more than former Dortmund man Robert Lewandowski but he has insisted that rivalry is not something which distracts him.
"It doesn't interest me at all whether Lewandowski is ahead or behind me in the charts," he added.
"The important thing is that I score goals for the team and we win. It will all be tallied up at the end."
Their counterparts Hertha Berlin on the other hand finished 15th in the league last season but their fortunes have been transformed with the arrival of Pal Dardai. The Capital club are as a result sitting third in the league table and will be aiming for a place in next season's Champions League.
