Jamie Vardy's compelling story might get the Hollywood treatment, as screenwriter Adam Butchart visited Leicester City's ace during Tuesday's clash against Liverpool.
Butchart, who wrote the screenplay for the "Goal" trilogy last decade, has been reported to be in touch with the player himself and some of his relatives, so he can get a good idea of who the main character is and how he ended up being this season's Premier League sensation.
The award-winning screenwriter also scheduled a visit to Stocksbridge Park Steels and to the medical factory where Vardy worked before joining Fleetwood Town. But first, Butchart had his snapshot taken with the player himself, Vardy's fiancee and the player's agent, John Morris.
Butchart(left) won the Best Film award at the 2008 Solstice Film Festival.
Even if the project is in the early stages of development, Butchart went on and shared who could take Vardy's role on the silver screen.
"We are looking at a few actors. Zac Effron and Robert Pattinson are two favorites, however One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is also very much on our radar, he's apparently a great footballer, he can act and he's from South Yorkshire so the accent won't be a problem for him," the screenwriter told the Daily Mail.
Vardy has scored 18 goals in 24 games for Leicester City this season, having a great influence in the team's performance. The 29-year old has agreed a contract extension with the Foxes, which would grant him a huge bonus if the club finishes among the top four clubs in the English top flight.
