The Brazilian star and his father will start a campaign to clear their names from any wrongdoing, after false reports of fraud have emerged to damage them.

Even if he has played some magnificent games this season, Barcelona's ace Neymar has found it hard to concentrate exclusively on the pitch, considering the legal issues surrounding his transfer from Santos to the Spanish giants a couple of years ago.

According to Neymar, the thing that gets to him the most is all those "lies" printed by the press. In fact, the South American striker believes some reporters need to dig in a little deeper in order to get the whole truth out on the open without damaging his reputation or his relatives.

"Before the go out there and start talking nonsense, they have to show the evidence. It's easy to print lies without knowing what's going on," Neymar said.

"When a subject such as this one starts affecting your family, it obviously gets to you. My father just wants me to focus on what happens on the pitch, but when you see your loved ones having a hard time after a number of lies are published, then it gets complicated to stay focused," he added.

Neymar has scored 21 goals in all competitions for Barcelona this season, emerging as the team leader when Lionel Messi came down with a knee injury.

In the same interview with a Brazilian TV station, Neymar's father stated the family wants to end all the controversy about his son's transfer to Barcelona, no matter how long it takes for them to clear their names.

"It's time to set the record straight. We wanted the Spanish justice to solve this matter, but we are tired of all the lies and we'll take the necessary steps to let the world know what happened. Everything will be sorted out shortly," Neymar's father added.

The Brazilian player, his father, and even Barcelona's former and current presidents are being accused of committing fraud against Spanish tax authorities over the footballer's transfer from Santos, which apparently saw Barcelona failing to declare the exact amount of the transfer to avoid tax complications.
