Players from Argentinean clubs Gimnasia and Estudiantes started fighting after the ref failed to control a number of harsh tackles and other incidents.

Once again, Argentinean football saw its reputation tarnished with a shameful incident on the pitch, in which players from Estudiantes and Gimnasia stopped kicking the ball and decided to kick their own colleagues.

Players from both teams were waiting for an excuse to fight against each other, following Alvaro Pereira's vicious kick against Facundo Oreja, which sent the Argentinean defender to the hospital. Later on, a harsh tackle by Santiago Ascacíbar created chaos on the pitch, leading to the shameful incidents depicted in the following video.

The Argentinean Football Association is yet to make a statement about the incident, with several players facing season-ending penalties.
