Neymar Jr has lashed out at a journalist who reported that the footballer was on the verge of signing for Real Madrid.

Barcelona forward Neymar Jr has bitterly responded to rumors that he could be on his way to join bitter rivals Real Madrid. The Brazilian responded via Snapchat over allegations of his impending move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 23-year-old star was responding to a journalist named Manolo Lama, who works for Cadena COPE. The journalist had earlier claimed that Neymar had eaten dinner in Madrid on Thursday, in the middle of negotiations with the Spanish giants.

In the Snapchat video, a visibly annoyed Neymar yells:

''Manolo Lama, you said that I was in Madrid yesterday; start talking the truth, you fool!’’

He then captioned the video with the words: ''For the journalist that talks s****.’’

In his response, Lama said that the information about Neymar’s dinner with Real Madrid representatives came from reliable sources, and that he did not want the superstar to be angry.

He said:

“Those that told me they saw [Neymar] in Madrid [on Thursday night] still swear that it was him.’’

He added:

“Neymar, I promise that I believe you and I apologize.’’

“If you really didn’t go to Madrid, then I invite you to the Tatel so you can see how good it is to eat in this restaurant - and if you come with your friends, even better.”

There have been rumors circulating in Spain about the possibility of Los Blancos signing the former Santos man as Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term replacement, who is turning 31 next month. The Blaugrana face Levante in their next La Liga fixture on Sunday 7th February 2016.
