The Brazilian left back was sent off after the harsh tackle, leaving Atletico with ten men soon after Luis Suárez scored the second goal for Barcelona.

Lionel Messi is used to make his opponents look bad, but some of them try to get to him the wrong way. Such was Filipe Luis' case, who almost harmed "La Pulga" with a harsh tackle to his knee.

Messi and Filipe Luis had been at it since the game's kick-off. During the first 20 minutes of the game, the Brazilian left back seemed to be getting away with it, since Messi was not being able to show his skills and Los Colchoneros were in the lead. But once Messi scored, Filipe Luis became desperate and started tackling Messi over and over, escaping a yellow card just one minute after Messi's equalizer.

Five minutes after Suarez scored Barcelona's go ahead goal, Filipe Luis hit Messi's knee, infuriating coach Luis Enrique and all of Messi's team-mates.
