Sources indicated the Dutch boss had decided to step down from Man United's coaching spot after Saturday's loss against Southampton.

Once again, Louis Van Gaal shows he is not a fan of making public appearances to dismiss rumors about his future. The Dutch boss stepped up and spoke about reports concerning his resignation in a pretty tense press conference, which ended up with the former Ajax tactician blaming the press for his misfortune.

"I don’t think I have mentioned that ever. You make your own stories. Then I have to answer. I am not doing that. This is the third time that I have been sacked and I am still sitting here for you, but only because I am obliged to do it. Those rumors are awful and horrible" Van Gaal said.

Van Gaal's future with Manchester United has been seriously questioned for quite some time now, given the team's below average performance in crucial games. After being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, the Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League, ten points away from Leicester City at the top of the table.

Preparing for Friday's FA Cup match against Derby County, LVG explained his attitude after last week's loss, admitting he was truly disappointed with the game's outcome.

"You can play badly, and you can win, then you are not so fed up, but you can also play every good and then you lose. It is also your duty as a manager and also as a player, to stand up again and do what you have to do, because that is a professional attitude," the Dutch coach added.

After Friday's clash against Derby, Manchester United will try to go back to their winning ways when they host Stoke City.
