The African striker will be in charge of boosting the team's goal-shy attack, but he will need to get an update about which team he joined.

Usually, when a player is unveiled with his new club, he talks about how happy he is for signing with "such a great team". But this time, Emmanuel Adebayor decided to speak a not so pleasant truth.

The former Tottenham player admitted he has to take a crash course on Crystal Palace's history, since he is not familiar with what the team's accomplishments have been in the past.

"I don't know much about the club but it's better to learn, so I'll be going on Google and finding out more about them," Adebayor said to the team's website.

The player, who reached an agreement to end his contract with Spurs last September, has been working out on his own since May 2015, after he ended a four-year stay with Tottenham, where he scored 42 goals in 113 apps.

Adebayor's signing with the Eagles could set a new record in EPL history, as the league's Twitter feed revealed.

After those controversial words, Adebayor shared his thoughts on what he wants to achieve with his new team.
