Despite starting the match with a goal advantage, Everton are without a win in their last three matches and they will be hoping to change that when they face the Citizens in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final.

The Toffees were against relegation battlers Swansea last time out in a match they suffered a 2-1 defeat, thanks to goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Ayew.

They however can take confidence from the fact that they have fared well against Man City recently. After their victory in the first leg over the Sky Blues, Everton followed it with a 0-0 draw earlier in the month and full back Leighton Baines is confident that his side can produce a positive result again.

"Getting to the final is massive for all of us," Baines said.

"It’s a tough semi to come through and you don’t always want to talk too much about what it might mean, because there is still a lot of work to do before then.

"But the truth of it is, we know we can beat Manchester City.

"We have just beaten them in the first leg and drawn against them in the league and another result like that would see us through. So we have just got to match what we have done in our last couple of games against them and we will be in the final.

The 31 year old has however maintained that Everton will have to be at their level best if they are to get the better of a very good Man City side.

"Of course, it is easier to say than do.

"City are a top side, and I am sure they will come out fast and try to get a goal, but we will be prepared for that and we’re capable of scoring ourselves. We will be ready."

Everton will be without Kevin Mirallas and Muhamed Besic who were withdrawn due to injuries during the defeat at the hands of Swansea.

Man City on the other hand have doubts over the likes of Wilfried Bony, Aleksandar Kolarov and Eliaquim Mangala.
