The Serbian right back stated that winning against Arsenal last Sunday could prove to be a turning point for the Blues' sloppy season.

Following Sunday's victory against Arsenal, Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic shared his views for Chelsea's upcoming games this season.

According to Ivanovic, who recently extended his contract with the Blues, things could look better for them once Eden Hazard is back at his peak. The Belgian playmaker has shown disappointing performances this season, managing to score only one goal for over a year. Nevertheless, Ivanovic still believes the winner of the PFA Player of the Year award can still make a difference this season.

"I think this is the one piece what we really need and miss. He is also working very hard the last couple of weeks after getting an injury. He is physically in good shape and for sure he will be there in the next couple of games," Ivanovic said about his team-mate.

After José Mourinho's dismissal as the team's coach last December, Chelsea currently enjoys a seven-game unbeaten streak under interim boss Guus Hiddink. While some of his team-mates believe the club can still reach European football spots for next season, Ivanovic believes that Sunday's win will be crucial to build up their confidence.

"We don't know where we can finish, but we are not thinking about that because we know the season for us has been very, very disappointing. Maybe the Arsenal win will be the turning point, but it depends on the next match," the defender added.

The Serbian defender has scored one goal and dished out two assists in 19 games for the Blues this season. Back in December, sources indicated he was close to signing a three-year deal with Inter, but after Mourinho's sacking, the club decided to extend his contract for one more season.
