After enduring a transfer ban themselves, one of Barcelona's directors believes that neither Real Madrid nor Atletico violated any rules concerning youth transfers.

Believe it or not, Barcelona and Real Madrid have finally found some common ground. As Los Blancos and neighbour Atletico Madrid are seemingly ready to face an eighteen month period without any new signings, Barcelona's officer Javier Bordás deemed the transfer ban on two of the most important teams in the Spanish top flight to be "excessive".

Fresh off a similar transfer ban, the Blaugrana exec feels that legislation should change, because neither team has violated its standards in the recent past, excusing both Madrid sides from any wrongdoing.

"Our approach on their ban is the same as we thought when we were hit with it: excessive. None of the three clubs broke the spirit of that rule, and as far as we at Barcelona can think, it is too harsh on them," Bordás stated.

Both Madrid-based clubs have announced they will appeal the ban that forbids them to sign new players until the summer of 2017.

Bordás went on and criticized FIFA for such a ruling, since Barcelona and the other teams involved only wanted to make sure the kids were able to play their favorite sport even if they were not living in their country of origin.

"It's a rule that should be reconsidered. It's creation was a good idea, but on the long run, it has only caused trouble for the kids. It's good for all kids in the world to be able to play this game, considering there's so much drama going on everywhere right now," Bordás added.

However, the Blaugrana exec believes it's fair that Real Madrid and Atletico should not be spared of their penalty, given that Barcelona was not excused by football's governing body.

"If we broke that rule and were forced to deal with it, they shouldn't be spared. It's only a matter of logic," the exec concluded.

Given that the ban was revealed during the ongoing transfer window, Real Madrid and Atletico will be allowed to add new players to their roster until until January 31, 2016.
