Renowned sports company Adidas have provided their opinion on the debate about the greatest player of all time between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Just hours after Lionel Messi was announced the winner of the Ballon d’Or, the fifth in his career, one user on social media asked the sports company quite a controversial question.

The user was seeking for dating tips, particularly when dealing with a woman who claims that Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is greater than Lionel Messi.

Obviously, the company was tweeting in favor of the Argentine, who is their long-time client.

In their response, the renowned sports company tweeted:

This also comes just a few days after Spanish publication Marca (as reported by the Independent) claimed that the company was planning to do whatever it takes to reunite Leo with the outgoing Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester United. Part of the report read:

"According to several sources in the United Kingdom, sportswear giant Adidas, who sponsor both Messi and Guardiola, are prepared to dig deep to reunite the player and his former coach at Old Trafford next season."

The sportswear firm sponsors both Leo and Pep.

The Barca star won three La Liga and two Champions League trophies under Pep at the Camp Nou.

Adidas also celebrated Messi’s record breaking fifth Ballon d’Or win by creating special platinum boots. The German firm now describes Leo as the ‘’greatest of all’’ and even printed the same message on the sole of the new platinum boots, which Leo is expected to wear for the rest of the season.

The message read:

''Gold is for winners, platinum is for the greatest.’’
