Struggling Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly planning to terminate Adnan Januzaj’s on-loan contract with their German counterparts Borussia Dortmund, a move that would see the attacking midfielder return to Old Trafford as early as this week.
Man United are in dire need of more attacking prowess and have also been linked with a few big signings this summer. On the other hand, Januzaj, 20, has had an unsuccessful season-long spell in Germany due to lack of playtime in a star-studded squad.
According to The Guardian, the attacking midfielder is reportedly set to return to England this week, but is highly unlikely to feature for his side against Sheffield United in their FA Cup fixture. During his spell in Germany, Dortmund’s coach Thomas Tuchel only selected the Belgian star for Europa League games.
Januzaj was in sparkling form for The Red devils during David Moyes’s reign as Man United’s manager but he failed to replicate the same form after Luis Van Gaal’s arrival. Consequently, he lost his position in the first team but considering his previous flashes of brilliance, the English club decided to send him to Dortmund on loan.

If he returns to England this week, the former Anderlecht man could feature for Man Utd against Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday.
