Wayne Rooney has added yet another trophy to his cabinet, this time round at the international level.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has been named England’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive time, reports The FA

The voting process was conducted via the England Supporters Club for the past few weeks and ended on Sunday midnight. Rooney, who is also England’s captain, was named the Player of the Year 2015, just a few months after becoming the Three Lions’ all-time top scorer. The 30-year-old has now won the Player of the Year award four times. This time round, he garnered 37 percent of all votes cast.

Despite performing poorly for his club, Manchester United, in 2015, the former Everton man managed to score five goals in his eight appearances for his country the same year. This includes his record-breaking penalty against Switzerland, which propelled him past Sir Bobby Charlton’s record to eventually become England’s all-time goal scorer.Wayne Rooney in a previous match for Man United Meanwhile, Stoke City’s goalkeeper Jack Butland (below) took the Under-21s Player of the Year award after garnering 54 percent of the votes cast.Jack Butland in previous action for England

Butland steered England U-21 to the Euro Champions Finals in Czech Republic last year before being drafted into Roy Hodgson’s senior team, consequently posing a great threat to England’s number one, Joe Hart.
