Manchester United risk losing their number one shot-stopper David De Gea to Spanish giants Real Madrid at the end of the season.

English Premier League side Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona’s goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, reports The Metro.

The 23-year-old had been initially linked with a move to Anfield but Man United are said to be interested in securing his signature before he considers a move to their Premier League rivals.Ter Stegen in a previous match for Barcelona

Last month, Real Madrid spokesman revealed that Los Blancos were still interested in signing the Spaniard after missing a glorious opporunity to sign him last summer due to late paperwork complications. They are now keen on securing a record-breaking deal by luring the former Atletico Madrid man back to Spain, but this time round, at the Santiago Bernabeu.

If De Gea agrees to leave the Red Devils, the German goalkeeper could replace him at Old Trafford at the end of the season. Ter Stegen moved to the Nou Camp from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014 but since then, he has featured for the Catalans only four times in La Liga.
