Los Blancos seemed to be on the right track to win the game after Bale's header, but Paco Alcacer equalized just a minute later for the hosts.

Rafa Benitez's credit with Real Madrid fans is long gone. The Spanish tactician was heavily criticized as his team lost the chance to fight toe-to-toe for La Liga with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. With their 2-2 draw against Valencia, Los Merengues are four points behind league leaders Atletico, as their coach's future could be determined this week.

Karim Benzema scored the first goal of 2016 for Real Madrid, putting to good use a no-look assist by Cristiano Ronaldo. Benitez then ordered the team to pull back, and Valencia ended up equalizing thanks to a late penalty by Dani Parejo.

Benitez decided to keep James Rodriguez and Isco off the pitch, while Mateo Kovacic saw a red card that complicated things for Los Blancos. Bale's goal gavve them some hope, but Alcacer equalized just a minute later.

Despite only losing one game out of the last eight, Benitez's future with the team doesn't seem too flattering, as pressure keeps piling up on him, giving fans and media the chance to discuss a number of potential replacements.

Here's what fans thought about Real Madrid's draw against Valencia.

"I fear this result will get Benitez axed. It will be a big loss...for Madrid's opponents."
