Leicester is currently leading the standings and Everton is in tenth place. Last time these teams met the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Who would have thought that 16 weeks into the Premier League season we would be seeing Leicester City above any other club in the competition and Everton holding on to the top ten before Christmas? In a season where you can expect the unexpected, this may not be the craziest thing we have seen.

Everton Preview

Everton is in tenth place but losing can be costly as they could fall down to 14th with many teams within striking distance of the team that is hosting this match at Goodison Park. With a combination of results, a win can also launch them into the top-five of the league and be very costly for their opponents.

This team has not lost any of their last six games, and that includes drawing its last three. If they manage to stay undefeated in this game, they would tie a seven-game unbeaten streak that the team had last year from March to April.

Their striking power has been pretty consistant lately. The team has scored in 12 of their last 13 games over including all the competitions the team has participated during that span. Romelu Lukaku has set a team record by scoring six straight EPL games and seven consecutive matches including all competitions.

Gerard Deulofeu has been vital in helping Lukaku achieve such heights, providing six assists to his teammate, a record for the league up to this point. Overall, Everton has scored 29 goals so far this season and conceded 21, setting them right across the middle of the table in both departments.

Everton has yet to beat a team from the top half of the table. All of their five wins have been against teams that are currently behind them on the standings. One of those wins was against Chelsea 3-1. Now the Blues have a new coach after what was their worst season in over 30 years.

Leicester City Preview

If you had your money on Leicester City leading the EPL almost halfway through the season, congratulations, not that many fans may have thought the same way. For a team that ended the 2014-2015 campaign fighting to stay away from the relegation zone in 14th place, this may seem more like a dream than pure reality.

Truth is, the team ended the past season in a strong way and was able to carry that momentum to this season. The team has not lost 17 of their last 25 games and currently, they are riding on a nine-game unbeaten streak.

The team has managed to score in every single game this season, being the only team to have done so. Their leading scorer is Jaimie Vardy, who has played even better than most of the big-time strikers like Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero and Anthony Martial so far this season. Vary has 15 goals in 16 games this season.

No team has scored more goals than Leicester this season, who has gotten away with 34 so far. All of those goals have come from inside the penalty area, no long-range goals have been scored by them so far. It was in March in a game against Tottenham that Leicester City lost its last game as a visitor, giving them plenty of confidence going into Everton's ground nine months later.

Head to Head

Leicester City and Everton have met a total of 18 times in the Premier League. In 13 of those games, the final score was a draw between both teams. Leicester has not been able to win at Goodison Park in 30 years. Everton has only lost once against them and that happened in 1998.
