The FIFA Club World Cup will come to an end this Sunday with an exciting encounter between Spanish giants FC Barcelona and their South American counterparts River Plate.

The Catalans made it to the finals after dismissing Guangzhou Evergrande 3-0 on Thursday, with Suarez scoring a hat-trick. In the other semi-final fixture, River Plate struggled to beat Hiroshima Sanfrecee but eventually won by a solitary goal. River Plate and Barca are the two strongest teams in the competition, therefore setting up an exciting final.

The match will kick off on Sunday at the 72,000-seater International Stadium Yokohama International Stadium Yokohama

Barca are the favourites to win the cup despite Messi’s absence. This was quite evident when they easily cruised past Guangzhou in the semis without any signs of missing the Argentina international. They will still rely on the prolific partnership of Luis Suarez and Neymar Jr to lead the hunt for goals upfront.

Suarez has scored 19 goals in his last 19 appearances for the Blaugrana, something that puts him above other strikers in the tournament.

Also, there is a huge possibility that Messi could return to Sunday’s final, but that is yet to be confirmed by the club.

River Plate come into this fixture after winning the Copa Libertadores and they will be inspired by their semi-final win to provide positive results against Luis Enrique’s men. Andres Iniesta is expected to provide his magical passes just like he did in the 3-0 semi-final win over Guangzhou and things could get even better if the attacking trio of MSN features in the game.
