The Mexican striker has scored eighteen goals for Bayer Leverkusen this season, making fans wonder if he could've contributed a bit more to the Red Devils' offense.

Javier Hernández seems to have found the best team to show his true skills, putting up massive numbers in his first season with Bayer Leverkusen. Chicharito's form contrasts with Manchester United's struggles up front, as the Red Devils have not been able to establish themselves as a goal scoring threat, even with the signing of French striker Anthony Martial.

In fact, Louis Van Gaal was never a fan of Chicharito's skills,  and the striker remembered a couple of conversations with the Dutch coach that led to his loan to Real Madrid and eventual transfer to Bayer Leverkusen one year later.

"Back in 2014, he told me that I should look into any bid to sign me, since I would have to fight for the spot. Once my deal with Real Madrid expired and I returned to Manchester, he let me know that I would have a 1% chance of playing, so I decided to leave the club and join Bayer Leverkusen," the striker revealed in an interview.

The striker, currently ranked 4th in the Bundesliga goal scoring charts, did not miss the chance to praise Sir Alex Ferguson, who sought out the player and signed him back in 2010. According to "Little Pea", the Scottish coach should be considered among the best in football history.

"I'll be forever grateful with Sir Alex Ferguson, he was the best at handling a full squad. He ended up giving 15 games to a player that was not even considered to be a starter. He gave me the chance to play in Europe and I ended winning two Premier Leagues with him," Chicharito added.

"Chicharito" added one more goal to his tally today

The Mexican striker scored for the fourth straight game today, helping Bayer Leverkusen defeat Unterhaching with a 3-1 score. Hernández scored the first goal for Die Werkself and assisted Karim Bellarabi for the game's final goal.
